A beautiful part of Australia with a special environment. Explore the Aboriginal culture like nowhere else. It feels like you’re in a different place.
8/10 Scott St, Cairns City QLD 4870
Cairns by itself may feel a little unsafe during the day. Aboriginals are living on the streets and even though it’s not a big amount it may feel a little intimidating. You may want to be politically up to date when visiting Cairns, so make sure you are for your own safety 🙂
Besides this, Cairns has fun markets (where you can get this delicious pineapple), but during the day there’s not much to do in the town itself. You should go do activities during the day, because spending your day in Cairns is literally a waste of time. I made you a list with the best activities you can’t miss around Cairns.
Anyways, Cairns is close to the Great Barrier Reef. One of Australia’s biggest highlights and world heritage. Of course we went there. We went on a big cruise and because we do care about the environment we chose to go with an Eco Certified operator. You can find your Eco Certified tours on: https://www.ecotourism.org.au/
Besides this we went to Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest: the oldest Rainforest in the world. 180.000.000 years to be exact. I know, it’s very impressive.
Here are some of the must-do activities near Cairns. Beware that some activities require a guide. I mean, in fact they don’t, but I’d recommend to do it with a guide, because they know so so so much about the environment. They can tell and learn you so much and although it may cost you a small fortune, it’s worth it!!
Hopefully this gives you inspiration for your next trip to Cairns. Have the best time ☀️🤍
