Hi! My name is Fleur van der Meer. I’m 23 years old and I live in the Netherlands. Currently, I’m in my third year of the bachelor Communication and Multimedia Design at Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
During my bachelor I’m mainly focussing on UX- and UI design, but I’m not afraid to take on new challenges and dip into different fields around webdesign. I really like trying and learning new things; learning by doing.
Because of my study I have built a great variety of knowledge from this area of expertise. When I’m working on a project, alone or in a team, I feel a lot of responsibility to let everything run as smooth as possible. I’ll always try to boost new concepts and give them an extra “umph”.
This started already when I was younger. When we had to make a Powerpoint presentation I was always the one who thought the looks were the priority and make it as beautiful as I can, where my teammates were like “what are you doing???”. The need to make something visually appealing always got my interest and it still does. Now I’m older I’ve learned that usability is a big part of design, which is my main focus: making everyone’s day a bit easier.
As concentrated I am at work as social and chill I am in my daily life. I like to go out and have fun with friends. Like; going to the beach, go to a bar or just chill in the park. You can also find me on the ice rink (speed skating), inline skating rink, where I volunteer in the summer to give inline skating class, and on the soccer field. Sounds like a lot, and it is a lot, but it’s how I roll ;).
Doing sports and being active is a big part of my life, it always has been. It makes my head empty, gives me new energy and sparks my creativity to work on projects!
